Just discovered you and your call for submissions. I swear... it's like my own Threshold Guardian guided me to open Substack at this moment so I would see this. I felt chills and tears throughout my body reading this. I'm so here for this... the conversations and the submission.
Such a great theme and opportunity! Darn. Wish I'd seen this sooner. I will keep my eyes out for the next one. (Or who knows -whip something out in the next couple of days before I leave on a trip.
would you be open to poetry submissions? i am currently IN it and apparently how im coping is poetry. i’ve written 2 chapbooks (20 poems each) plus some since february and they are all about the guardians i’ve slayed to get to current me. i feel this was written to me. thank you for the opportunity regardless! 🖤
Oh I am SO in on this! I read this 5 minutes ago and have just relocated to my shed to make a start, even though in my head I was already thinking I should put the dinner on. Threshold Guardian at play already. Bring it on :-)
I just came across this piece. Don’t know that I have time to get something written before the deadline but love that you are offering this opportunity for women writers!
This is thrilling! I know exactly what story is ready to spill onto the page. It’s a threshold guardian I have met in the past month… and how I got access to cross over. Eeeee, now I’m excited to write this story. Thank you 🙏🏻
Wonderful idea, again! I've been traveling and have missed a lot of your work. I'm so glad I found this one. I am very familiar with the "Threshold Guardian(s)" in my life. I'm going to take a crack at writing about the current one to submit to you :-)
"The trick of the Threshold Guardian (the secret that we are all so afraid to admit to ourselves) is that she is not your enemy. She has an important and valid job: to test you. She will only guard a door if there is something on the other side worth getting to. Your challenge is to figure out how badly you want what’s on the other side and figure out a way to tame that dragon. Sometimes she becomes an ally. Sometimes you have to get into her skin to get past her. Sometimes the challenge is wrestling with your own mind."

amazing, thank you!!
This is such a lovely invitation. I'm curious if you might accept poetry submissions.
I don't see why not. As long as it follows the theme.
