Clean generosity, I love the concept. Especially since I’ve come to realise that coercive control can often be disguised as ‘generosity’ but with strings attached

“De-selfing” — that one is going to live in my head rent-free for a while. The active vs. passive distinction is the whole thing. You don’t lose yourself by accident — you erase yourself on purpose, daily, in tiny increments, until you forget you were doing it.

One I’d add: Raw-dogging the human condition. The female-specific cultural pressure to refuse anesthesia, medication, comfort, or assistance as proof of your strength. Birth without an epidural. Headaches without Advil. Anxiety without SSRIs. ADHD without stimulants. Suffering as virtue. As if the absence of help is what makes a woman real.

Example: “I spent thirty years raw-dogging the human condition and called it discernment. It was actually terror.”

Instead of: resilience, toughness, mental strength (all of which we’ve been handed as virtues, and which are mostly just ways to keep women uncomplaining while they bleed.)
