This made me stop and think because it explains something I could never quite name. Most of us do not lack ideas in midlife. We are drowning in unprocessed life.

You are right , The problem is not emptiness. It is proximity. We are standing too close to our own wisdom to recognize it as material.

And honestly, AI as a reader, not a writer, is the best nugget of the day . Thank You !

That distinction changes everything.

I'm glad it resonated!

I use Claude as a reader and it's like having a personal editor at my fingertips! Also, how hard are you laughing at me now using AI;)

I knew you’d come around eventually! Once you realized that it didn't have to write for you. What would we want to give away the fun stuff?

I already love 750 Words...thanks for sharing that. I hate writing by hand and sort of hate writing with a keyboard. I'm more verbal. However, I do acknowledge the connection between hand and eye and brain.

The Artist's Way is a great book. It's one I keep on my bookshelf.

Me too! Since I was in my mid twenties.

Wonderful! A great way to discover what’s important/meaningful/concerning to you— and that’s always an excellent way to center an essay.

Agreed, Suzanne. Essays should come from the souls of us Ultimate Wise Women.

This is awesome! Thank you! It’s sad how we have to justify using AI in this manner. Creatives have been discovering new tools for their art for centuries and AI when used as a tool is an incredibly useful one! 💚

If you know how to use a tool you can be an artisan. If you don’t, you can be dangerous.

I LOVE this article! I have always enjoyed writing by hand, but when computers became a thing, it was so much faster to type. Even now, I find that my thoughts are faster than I can handwrite, and then my pages end up looking sloppy (which I HATE, I like clean, organized note-taking lol). But the point is the exercise, whichever one best suits you. The point is to get everything out of your brain and dump it somewhere to be witnessed (if only by you). And you're right, we as women have seen and kept silent years of events and observations. Our stories deserve to be told.
